Allen Fromherz, director of Georgia State University’s Middle East Studies Center, says escalation against Iran is not “fully merited” after President Trump called off a planned strike. Fromherz says Trump appears to be listening to Gulf allies who still see a ceasefire as the best outcome, while Iran is using a strategy of “delay and deflect” in negotiations.
