Lawmakers Putting Midterm Hopes Over Trump Fears, Says Marc Short

Marc Short, former chief of staff to Vice President Mike Pence, says that the 17 House Republicans who voted with Democrats to extend Affordable Care Act subsidies are making a political calculation that they care more about being reelected than getting ‘yelled at by Donald Trump.’ As more funding bills take shape in congress, Short says that he thinks it is unlikely the government will shut down again at the end of the month.
