Thousands Rally Across Bulgaria Against Cabinet’s Budget Plans

The biggest protest in more than a decade took place in Bulgaria’s capital on Monday as tens of thousands of people gathered in Sofia to protest the government’s 2026 budget plans. Political tensions have risen in recent months and are taking on even greater weight as the Balkan country prepares to adopt the euro in January.
