Lagarde Sees ‘Plenty of Very Good Candidates’ to Replace Her

Christine Lagarde says there are “plenty of very good candidates” to replace her as European Central Bank President when she leaves her job in about two years, including Executive Board member Isabel Schnabel. “Isabel is one of them, but there are plenty of them. And I’m sure that they will be more in the future,” Lagarde said during a news conference in Frankfurt after policymakers left interest rates unchanged for a fourth straight meeting.
