Funding Deal Heads to the Senate

Congress is getting closer to fully funding the government. The House passed its final six spending bills—more than $1.2 trillion—sending the package to the Senate ahead of the January 30 deadline. The deal locks in fiscal 2026 funding and adds guardrails against Trump administration funding shifts. Senate action is expected next week.
