Alberta Moves Toward 2026 Referendum on Canada Pension Plan Exit

Alberta’s government will consider holding a referendum next year on whether to leave the Canada Pension Plan and create its own retirement fund manager, following the recommendation from a panel helmed by the province’s leader to do so.
