Killing of Mexican Cartel Boss Sparks Violence

Video recorded by AP shows the aftermath of violence after a top cartel leader was killed by Mexican authorities in the western state of Jalisco. “El Mencho” cartel leader Nemesio Rubén Oseguera Cervantes was slain in a federal operation on Sunday morning, Mexico’s government said in a statement. After the raid, criminal groups burned cars and trucks to block roads and there were also clashes between gangs and the authorities, according to local outlets Reforma and Milenio.
