Kansas City Mayor on World Cup, US Politics

The mayor of Kansas City, Missouri, Quinton Lucas says he’s trying to ensure that the upcoming World Cup, which is being jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada, leaves a lasting legacy. Kansas City is hosting six matches, including a quarter-final, and will also be the base for four teams, including both defending champions Argentina and England. On the political front, Lucas ruled out running for Congress for now, and said the Democrats should focus on “affordability and competent governance” in the next election cycle. He spoke with Bloomberg on the sidelines of the Bloomberg CityLab event in Madrid. (Source: Bloomberg)
