FAA Chief Defends Flights Cuts During Shutdown, Cites Safety

Cutting flights across 40 major airports during the US government shutdown earlier this year was necessary to protect the safety of the flying public, the head of the US Federal Aviation Administration told lawmakers on Tuesday.
