Midtown Manhattan Building Unstable After Columns Buckle, Mamdani Says

A Midtown Manhattan building under construction is unstable and a collapse warning has been issued. City officials say two columns on the 21st floor buckled and bricks were reported falling to the streets below. No one has been hurt. The building is at 235 East 42nd Street. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani said at a news conference that other buildings and a school have been evacuated while the site is secured.  (Source: Bloomberg)
