Allen: Government AI rollout rules are ‘completely opaque’

Gregory Allen says OpenAI is responding reasonably to the Trump administration’s push to sequence access to advanced AI cybersecurity models, but says he would not call the process voluntary given the threat of export controls. Allen, founder and CEO of Decision Tree Research, says those who need to be defended, including banks, the US military and intelligence agencies need access first, but warns the process by which the public will gain access remains “completely opaque.” He speaks with Kailey Leinz and Joe Mathieu on Bloomberg’s Balance of Power.
