US Insists Talks Ongoing Even as Iran Rejects Plan

Mona Yacoubian, director and senior adviser of the Middle East Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, said that Iran believes it holds ‘some very important cards’ and is still looking to exact as much leverage as possible over the war with the US. Yacoubian said that its hard to know what the Trump administration is thinking in regards to its Iran strategy, as press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters negotiations are ongoing amid more troop movement to the region.
