German Defense Sector Has ‘Long Way to Go,’ Deputy Minister Says

Germany’s decision to scrap a €10 billion ($11.4 billion) warship purchase and the demise of a joint fighter-jet project with France this month show that the country’s industry needs to catch up with ambitions for a military buildup, a senior defense official said.
